Amar grew up in Vancouver, BC and was fortunate to complete his physiotherapy education at one of the top schools in the world. He completed his Doctor of Physiotherapy degree at the University of Melbourne, Australia in 2018. Prior to relocating to Australia, he attended Simon Fraser University where he successfully completed his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Amar grew up playing soccer at a competitive level, before switching to amateur boxing in his late teens, following a career ending hamstring injury.
He has been fortunate to have worked along side and mentored by some of the best rehab professionals in Canada.
Amar has worked with numerous sports teams over the past few years competing in Australian Rules Football (AFL), soccer, and ice hockey. This has provided Amar with valuable hands-on experience in injury management and prevention at both the elite and recreational level. Amar is also a lower limb injury specialist, with an interest in ACL injury rehabilitation. He believes in injury prevention, which is achieved by combining strength exercises, quality exercise programming/load management, and biomechanical analysis. Amar utilizes a wide range of evidence-based manual techniques and exercise modalities to assist his clients in achieving their goals. He is also certified by Accupuncture Canada to perform dry needling/IMS.
